At the center of this short film are two big and eccentric characters. Cheryl & The Voider.

When I wrote the script, I had actor Alissa Jessup in mind for the role of Cheryl. The first time I ever saw Alissa perform was at a sketch show in which she embodied her costume/character so strongly that it wasn't until halfway through the performance that I realized this "man" was her! Alissa Jessup is immensely talented, and I feel extremely fortunate to say that she will be bringing Cheryl and all of her glorious dysfunction and hilarity to life for this film

More About Alissa:

ALISSA JESSUP is a writer, director, and actor with over 15 years experience working in theater, film and television. She has written and performed comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade NYC and The Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles.

As an actor, she has performed and developed new plays with acclaimed theaters such as Sundance Theatre Lab, P.S. 122 and Playwrights Horizons. Selected TV credits include upcoming, SHRILL(Hulu)  starring Aidy Bryant,  TRUE BLOOD (HBO),  THE MINDY PROJECT (FOX), and GRIMM (NBC).

The Voider is a sophisticated tech savvy otherworldly Kali like destroyer / assassin. Securing an actor that could deliver the right grit, nuance, charisma and terrifying swagger is very important for bringing this character to life.

We are fortunate to have the tremendous John Paulsen signed on to do just that! John played Mr. Hands in Zoo, Steve in Visioneers, had a recurring role on Z Nation, and recently joined the cast for the revival of David Lynch's Twin Peaks.

More About John Paulsen:

Ashley Mellinger is a model, actress, writer and producer. She is an exceptionally talented person in so many different ways that we are fortunate to have her both in front of the camera as Kara and behind the camera as one of the projects producers.

She has a BFA from NYU and has performed in theater, film and commercial projects.

One of the primary reasons we are fundraising is so that we can afford to style these characters exceptionally well. This means SFX make up, fantastic wigs, and costumes.

By donating to the film you will help us bring these characters more expertly to life!
